Mondays - Line Dancing, 6:00 p.m., Heritage Center.

Mondays - Cub/Boy Scout meeting, 7:00 p.m., Trinity United Methodist Church.

Wednesdays - Thunder Zone Karate, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m., Fire Hall, $40 a month.

Thursdays - Line Dancing, Advance Class 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., Beginner's Class, 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Heritage Center, $3.00 a class. Free for Southeastern Lifestyle Fitness Members.

Saturday, October 14 - Fairmont Farmers Festival Scholarship Pageant, 3:00 p.m., Rosenwald Elementary. Admission $5.00 and Pageant book $5.00.

Tuesday, October 17 - Regular Town Board meeting, 6:00 p.m., Town Hall Council Chambers.

Friday, October 20 - Chamber of Commerce 2nd annual SFC Matthew McClintock Memorial Golf Tournament, Opening ceremony with Special Forces Parachute Jump at 10:00 a.m. and Shotgun start at 12:00 noon.

Friday, October 20 - Fairmont High School Football vs. Red Springs, 7:00 p.m. HOMECOMING.

Saturday, October 21 - 31st annual Fairmont Farmers Festival, Parade at 10:00 a.m. followed by food/craft vendors and  performance by the Holiday Band in the park at 12 noon.

Friday, October 27 – Teacher Workday, no school.

Tuesday, October 31 - Halloween Trick or Treat hours, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m. Mayor Townsend will be handing out candy on the front porch of Town Hall.  Dr. Electrode will be handing out candy at the Border Belt Museum from 6:00 to 8:30 p.m.

Friday, November 3– Fairmont High School Football vs. South Robeson, 7:00  p.m.,Senior Night.

Saturday, November 4 - Bethesda United Methodist Church Annual Bazaar & BBQ Plate Sale, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Plates are $7.00 and will be sold starting at 11:00 a.m.

Tuesday, November 7 - Election Day, Fire Hall, 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Tuesday, November 14 - NCDMV, 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Town Hall courtroom.

Friday, November 10 – Town offices and schools closed in observance of Veterans Day. 

Tuesday, November 21 - Regular Town Board meeting, 6:00 p.m., Council Chambers.

The NCDMV has a Driver's License unit that comes to Fairmont on the second Tuesday, following the first full week, of each month. The operating hours are 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. in the coutroom of Town Hall.

The Fairmont Board of Commissioners meet on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 6:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers, second floor, Town Hall.

The Planning Board meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 6:00 p.m. in the Municipal Building Council Chambers when necessary.

The Fairmont Chamber of Commerce meets on the first Monday of the month at 5:00 p.m. at the Fairmont Golf Course.

The Fairmont Downtown Business Association meets on the second Monday of the month at 11:00 a.m. in the Fairmont - South Robeson Heritage Center.

The Hector McLean Public Library is a branch of the Robeson County Public Library system and is open Monday: 1 pm - 7 pm, Tuesday: 1 pm - 7 pm, Wednesday: 1 pm - 5 pm, Thursday: 1pm - 5pm and Friday: 1 pm - 5 pm.
